Everything about Hong Kong is woven into the world of Joanna Chu Liao – its heritage, mixed cultures, and West-meets-East charisma. Born to a Shanghainese family of garment manufacturers, she was introduced to the know-how of fashion at a young age, which shaped her passion and respect for craftsmanship and aesthetics. The upbringing in both Hong Kong and Canada exposed Joanna to global cultures, which would become her source of inspiration when she joined her mother’s fashion label and had the opportunity to finally unleash her vision about what interprets a woman’s true colours.
Joanna’s persistence in combining couture aesthetic and modern lifestyle were trusted by a prestigious clientele, including Barneys New York, Harvey Nichols, Estee Lauder, Folli Follie, Isetan, and Seibu. It was before Joanna established on her own in 2011 and chose to open her flagship store in Causeway Bay, the fashion landmark of Hong Kong.
